It’s an exciting time at Children’s Hospital as we wrap up several construction projects that will offer better care for Louisiana’s kids. Later this winter, Children’s Hospital New Orleans will be opening an all new, free-standing Behavioral Health Center located on hospital’s main campus. With the alarming statistic of 1 in 5 children having a significantly impairing mental disorder, we are looking to make a change by offering behavioral healthcare for those affected by this illness.

The Behavioral Health Center offers acute inpatient behavioral health treatment in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for kids who are 7-17 years old. Outpatient services will also be provided to complement inpatient care and include assessment and treatment of psychiatric behavioral disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and mood disturbance. Seeing this incredible new Behavioral Health Center reach completion is exciting and inspiring, knowing the significant impact it is going to make for kids an families in need of these vital services.
